DLD's 2017 "Know Your Rights" PDF: what the listing shows
Dubai Land Department's News & Media page (read 9 October 2026) lists a PDF called "Know Your Rights for Real Estate Investor in Dubai". The listing gives the date 07 February 2017, a size of 3 MB and a "View" link.
Keyva read the listing, not the PDF. So this page does not quote or sum up what the document says.
What does the listing show?
- The title: "Know Your Rights for Real Estate Investor in Dubai".
- The date: 07 February 2017.
- The format: a PDF.
- Where it sits: in the Electronic Publications part of DLD's News & Media page, next to a 2018 report on sustainable cities.
Why does the date matter?
The PDF was published in 2017. Rules on home loans and visas are published on other official pages, and those pages carry their own dates. Two examples follow, each from a page read on 9 October 2026.
Home loans. The UAE Central Bank's Regulations Regarding Mortgage Loans, consolidated 8 April 2020, cap the loan for an expatriate's first home at 80% of the value up to AED 5 million and 70% above it (read 9 October 2026). For property bought off-plan, meaning before the building is finished, the same regulation caps the loan at 50% for any buyer (read 9 October 2026). It also says all monthly debt repayments may not exceed 50% of income, and the loan may not exceed 7 years of income for expatriates or 8 years for UAE nationals (read 9 October 2026). Keyva's mortgage calculator is a separate page.
Golden Visa. The UAE Government portal u.ae lists a 5-year Golden Visa for real estate investors, with a minimum capital of AED 2 million (page updated 28 July 2026, read 9 October 2026). The official pages Keyva read do not say whether mortgaged or off-plan property counts. Keyva's Golden Visa page quotes the same source.
What does the listing not tell you?
It gives no summary of the PDF. It does not say whether the PDF has been replaced by a newer document.
To read the document itself, open the "View" link on DLD's News & Media page.
Keyva's listing checks page links to DLD's and RERA's own public checks. Keyva is independent and is not part of, or endorsed by, either body.
This page reports what DLD and the UAE Central Bank publish. It is not legal or financial advice.
